If we aren’t able to get in contact with you
If important letters and notifications from Jobcenter team.arbeit.hamburg are returned to us as undelivered and we aren’t able to get in touch with you, a public notification will be issued at the Altstadt office.It regularly happens that letters sent to you by mail fail to reach you because:
- your registered address is no longer applicable;
- you do not have a permanent place of residence, or;
- you have not provided us with information on the person representing you or your authorised recipient.
In this case, we will contact you in the form of a public notification.

Important! Public notifications set certain time limits in motion. Failure to adhere to the deadlines may lead to a loss of rights: for example, the expiration of your objection period.
Post is deemed delivered if two weeks pass since the notice is hung up on the notice board.
Do you have reason to believe our postal correspondence may not be reaching you? Check whether we have your current registered address on file. Calling the ServiceCenter suffices in this regard.
It’s important that we are able to contact you by mail in order to promptly process your queries and pay benefits.
